A mixture of mashed banana, rice flour and curd, social media users are hailing this DIY mask as a replacement for Botox. But is this claim really valid? Let's investigate.

Ever heard of ‘natural Botox’? The beauty realm on the internet seems to be buzzing about a DIY mask that claims to mimic the effects of Botox. Comprising mashed banana, rice flour, and curd, this viral mask has social media users swapping syringes for kitchen ingredients. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s delve into the truth behind the mask.

While a face mask prepared from mashed bananas, rice flour, and curd can improve skin health by delivering key nutrients and stimulating exfoliation, it cannot replace Botox, said Dr DM Mahajan, senior consultant, dermatology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi. “Botox paralyses muscles, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles generated by muscular contractions. The natural chemicals in the mask may improve skin texture and luminosity, but they do not have the same muscle-relaxing properties as Botox.”
