The Diablo 4 Season 16 PTR plan favors Obducite when Greater Temper or masterworking is your immediate bottleneck, and Talismans when seasonal slots need attention. You can browse Diablo 4 Items while planning your next session, but the right reward bias depends on your own crafting needs.
Put Obducite Where You Farm
Obducite bias is the stronger first choice when tempering or masterworking is holding back your equipment. The plan describes Greater Temper crafts needing about one thousand Obducite alongside Scrolls, so a healthy Obducite count alone doesn't mean you're ready to craft. Apply the reward emphasis to activity lanes you actually run, such as Helltide or the Pit if those are already your choices. A multiplier on an unused activity won't help your stock. This approach assumes you've handled Gold separately; spending reward points on Gold won't resolve an Obducite shortage.
1) Set a Greater Temper goal, then record your current Obducite and Scroll stocks before deciding which reward type deserves your next points.
2) Review the activity lanes you've already chosen and place your Obducite emphasis where you'll actually spend your planned farming time.
3) Record your starting and ending Obducite for a session, then compare the gain with your crafting goal before committing more points.
Move Toward Talismans When Gear Is Ready
Talisman bias makes more sense when your tempering needs are covered but seasonal Talisman slots are holding back your power. Better seasonal power may shorten clears, giving you more opportunities to collect Obducite during later farming. That payoff depends on getting useful upgrades and continuing to run activities that supply the material. With a limited point budget, don't rush to maximize Talisman rewards while you're still short of the Obducite needed for your next Greater Temper craft. Work through the immediate equipment requirement first, then direct new reward points toward Talismans.
● If both materials are short, consider alternating three-point blocks weekly so your records show the effect of each change more clearly.
● If Obducite rises above two thousand while Talismans remain near zero, the plan recommends directing your next three-point block toward Talismans.
● Sort your inventory before attempting Talisman upgrades, and record unsuccessful crafts so you can distinguish material supply from an undesirable result.
Reality check: More Obducite won't complete a Greater Temper craft when the required Scrolls are missing, so inspect both stocks together.
Reserve Marks for Useful Rerolls
Marks of Wisdom are best saved for reward rows that miss the materials you expect to use soon. Before rerolling, consider your next forty-eight hours of crafting: a node that supports that plan can be worth keeping even if another reward looks exciting. Set aside a Marks reserve for launch-week needs before spending on Eternal practice trees. Record the old reward, the replacement, and your remaining Marks after each attempt. You aren't guaranteed an ideal result by chasing one, and repeated rerolls can drain the reserve you intended to keep.
● Take a screenshot of the reward node, its point cost, and your current bias ranks before spending Marks on a reroll.
● Change reward bias at the start of a session and keep activity points unchanged during a reward-only review for cleaner comparisons.
● After three measured sessions, compare both material counts with their goals and adjust the next three-point block toward the larger shortfall.
